MISSOULA – Travelers’ Rest Connection, the supporting group and cooperative managing organization of Travelers’ Rest State Park, is one of several sponsors of the upcoming Sept. 28 local film screening of “Big Medicine: York Outdoors,” a 30-minute documentary produced by Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail in partnership with NEW Multimedia.
The film follows eight adventurers on a four-day river expedition along the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument in Montana. While following part of the travels of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the film highlights York, an enslaved member of the Expedition, and his significant contributions.

Travelers’ Rest State Park is a significant cultural site for the Séliš and Ql?ispé people, and a Lewis and Clark Expedition archaeologically verified campsite. The park hosts many public programs and helps to promote and sponsor local events related to the site’s history.
