TiCK MiTT Unveils Blaze Orange Tick Removal Mitt for the Field

Tick solutions startup, TiCK MiTT, featured on ABC’s Shark Tank Season 16, delivers its boldest product yet — combining chemical-free tick defense with added visibility for anyone who works, hunts, or hikes outdoors.

TiCK MiTT, the tick solutions company that is on a mission to reduce cases of tick-borne diseases through innovative, chemical-free products, announced the addition of a hunter orange color to its lineup. Hunter orange, also known as blaze orange, is a protective color, providing a layer of increased visibility, especially when firearms are present. Hunters, outdoor workers, and adventure-seekers now have a two-in-one solution designed to combat the rapid rise in tick populations and tick-borne diseases.

As warmer weather fuels outdoor adventures and tick populations reach headline-making highs due to rising climate temperatures, tick safety has never been more urgent. Outdoor workers—including forestry and field professionals—face elevated risk. These individuals are frequently exposed to ticks in tall grass, brush, and wooded terrain, making tick prevention critically important. TiCK MiTT offers a lightweight, reusable solution designed to help remove ticks from clothing, gear, and pet fur before they embed—reducing the risk of tick-borne disease with every swipe.

“We serve a big population of outdoor enthusiasts and workers who need to, now more than ever, protect themselves from the threat of ticks.” said Olivia Abrams, CEO and Co-Founder of TiCK MiTT, who was named a 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 for Social Impact. “At the same time we thought why not give everyone an option to protect themselves from other potential dangers. Built with rugged use in mind, the new blaze orange mitt adds high visibility for hunters, field workers, and backcountry adventurers who can’t afford to overlook a single tick. Now, you have yet again one less thing to worry about while enjoying or working in the great outdoors.”

TiCK MiTT, headquartered in New York City but with distribution internationally, was co-founded by former Magnolia Bakery CEO and entrepreneur Steve Abrams and his daughter Olivia Abrams. The Abrams family dealt with the chronic effects of Lyme Disease following Olivia’s diagnosis at the age of seven. The TiCK MiTT is a labor of love in its mission to help other families and their pets take all the necessary precautions to reduce the risk of contracting a vector-borne disease, including the most common, Lyme Disease. The duo recently took the fight on ticks into the tank, appearing on the season finale of “Shark Tank” on May 16.

According to the non-profit Project Lyme, an estimated 14 percent of the global population has been diagnosed with Lyme. Due to the lack of standardized testing and many inaccurate diagnoses, that number is likely significantly higher with more than 500,000 estimated annual cases of Lyme Disease across the U.S. and Canada.

TiCK MiTT, which launched two years ago, retails for $19.99 and was also named the 2024 Product of the Year at the Outdoor Retailer Summer spectacular in Utah for its reusable fabric design. The TiCK MiTT is available in other colors, with additional products in development and set to launch soon. In May 2025, the brand launched a smaller version for younger outdoor enthusiasts, TiCK MiTT KiDS, just in time for the busy summer camp season.

TiCK MiTT is available at retailers including Chewy.com, Pet Valu in Canada, Dunham’s Sports, Duluth Trading Company, Fleet Farm, in hundreds of independent pet stores, hardware, outdoor, and lawns & garden stores throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and South Korea.
