The Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association 2018 Swamp Guides Ball fishing tournament/auction is Feb. 2-3 in Islamorada. This tournament directs contributions to the Guides Trust Foundation, a fund set up to help our local guides in times of need, which has contributed to our guides and their families most significantly and especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma; 2018 collaborative relief distributions reached nearly $500,000.00. The GTF also supports local environmental restoration projects which stands as another tribute to their support of our local fishing industry and its constituents.
The Swamp Guides Ball, headquartered in Islamorada, is an all-release tournament targeting redfish, snook and bonefish and brings out the best and competitive nature of our guides and anglers. Entry is $300 per two angler team. We encourage all anglers, including female and junior anglers (ages 16 and younger), to participate in this competitive but exceptionally fun tournament. Last year, we raised a record $32,000.00 thanks to the support of our sponsors, local community, and anglers. Our Silent Auction, Raffle and Awards events were a great success and were open to anglers, guests and the general public and the same model will be employed in 2018. We are confident your sponsorship will receive excellent exposure. We graciously accept monetary donations or items that can be used towards the silent auction, ditty bags or in the raffle. FYI, we always have about 100 anglers who participate in the SwampGuides Ball tournament.
We encourage you to visit the tournament website athttp://www.fkfga.org/swampguidesball.html and like us on our Facebook page. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We look forward to collaborating with you for this great event.
Still, in this time of need, we appreciate any business you can give our local fishing guides. Every day on the water is a huge help as the Keys community does its best to right their businesses. Please pick up the phone and book a day on the water.
FEBRUARY 2-3rd is the FKFGA Swamp Guides Ball!
