Allie Gilkerson of Allie’s Adaptations Joins the ‘Hunting Matters’ Podcast

Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) and the Hunting Matters podcast is proud to welcome Allie Gilkerson, founder of Allie’s Adaptations, as a special guest on this week’s episode of the Hunting Matters podcast.

Allie’s story is one of extraordinary resilience, love, and innovation. In 2017, a devastating car accident left her with a traumatic brain injury and severe mobility limitations. Against all odds, Allie reclaimed her voice, her independence, and her academic success—graduating high school with honors and walking the stage to a standing ovation. But her passion for the outdoors never wavered.

With the help of her stepfather, Chip, Allie began using custom-built adaptive devices to hunt, fish, and explore the wild on her own terms. What began as a personal journey of restoration became a greater mission: Allie’s Adaptations, founded in 2024, now empowers individuals with physical challenges to reclaim access to the outdoors through creative and custom-designed tools.

On the podcast, Allie shares powerful insights into her recovery, the origins of Allie’s Adaptations, and the incredible hunts and fishing trips that have brought new meaning to her life. She also discusses her hopes for expanding access to adaptive outdoor equipment and encourages others with disabilities to keep pursuing their passions.

Tune in to hear Allie’s unforgettable story of grit, gratitude, and the gear that made it all possible at https://hscfdn.org/hunting-matters-podcast/ or on your favorite streaming platform.
