The 2025 National Sporter Air Rifle League completed its second week with another round of randomized pairings across high school teams and junior rifle clubs. Teams compete in three-position matches—10 shots each in kneeling, prone and standing—scored in decimal, with results determined by the combined totals of each squad’s top four athletes. The eight-week regular season will be followed by a postseason for the Champions Division’s top eight and the top two per conference in the Distinguished and Elite divisions. With all teams now ranked, next week transitions to skill-based squadding.
At the top of the table, Fontana MCJROTC improved to 2-0 behind a balanced effort against Selma MCJROTC, while Palm Bay MCJROTC also climbed to 2-0 with a strong road result. Pascagoula NJROTC remains third after a bye. Walton County Air Rifle continued its form with a narrow win over Zion Benton NJROTC, and Norview NJROTC held steady with another controlled performance at Bishop Kenny NJROTC. Those five lead a crowded field that includes North Brunswick AJROTC, Mountain View MCJROTC and West Valley MCJROTC, each off to unbeaten starts.
Most Exciting Games
Walton County Air Rifle vs. Zion Benton NJROTC: Walton County secured a 1,146.2 to 1,128.2 win in a matchup that turned midway through the card. Zion Benton led by 5.3 after kneeling, but Walton County moved in front by 10.8 after prone and finished with an 18.0-point margin following standing. Bethany Shirley’s 297.0 set the pace for Walton County; Lessly Trevino led Zion Benton at 285.3.
North Brunswick AJROTC at Austin E Lathrop AJROTC: North Brunswick prevailed 1,138.5 to 1,110 in a competitive meeting that stayed within reach throughout. The visitors held measured cushions of 15.0 after kneeling and 17.7 after prone before closing at plus-28.5. Miguel Gonzalez posted 295.6 for North Brunswick, while Fox Neuhaus turned in 297.6 for Austin E Lathrop.
Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club at Lumen Christi High school: Trigger Time won 1,102.8 to 1,074.5, controlling the first two positions and managing a late push from Lumen Christi. Leads of 33.7 after kneeling and 37.1 after prone narrowed to 28.3 by the end of standing. Lexi Strand led Trigger Time with 293.3; Liv Crosby paced Lumen Christi at 279.8.
Marksmen Standout Performances
Raymond Sanchez, Fontana MCJROTC — Team-high 293.4 to anchor Fontana’s 1,169.6 win over Selma MCJROTC.
Misha Hamid, Palm Bay MCJROTC — Posted 297.3 to pace Palm Bay in a 1,165–1,040.1 result at Bensalem MCJROTC.
Alexandra Orr, Lafayette Gun Club — Led with 294.4 in Lafayette’s 1,102.3–1,059.5 victory against MSYESS.
Emmett Funkhouser, West Valley AJROTC — Delivered 296.1 to drive West Valley’s 1,104.8–883.0 road win at Hoke County AJROTC.
Mildreth Hernandez, Kofa MCJROTC — Turned in 290.1 as Kofa closed out a 1,087.7–989.0 decision over Smiths Station MCJROTC.
Looking ahead, several early tests highlight Week 3. Fontana MCJROTC meets fellow unbeaten North Brunswick AJROTC, and Palm Bay MCJROTC draws Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club in another 2-0 pairing. Pascagoula NJROTC returns from a bye to face West Valley MCJROTC, while Zion Benton NJROTC and Mountain View MCJROTC line up in a cross-program matchup as skill-based squadding begins.

American Legion Post 295 stays #1 as Week 2 delivers a close Lafayette–Robinson finish; several unbeaten showdowns ahead

Teams compete in 60-shot standing matches scored in decimal, with results determined by the combined totals of each squad’s top four athletes. The eight-week regular season feeds into a postseason featuring the top eight from the Champions Division and the top two per conference in the Distinguished Division. With all teams now on the board, next week transitions to skill-based squadding.
At the top, American Legion Post 295 improved to 2-0 behind a balanced lineup in a win over Robert Service High School. Granbury MCJROTC and Sutter Union High School debuted with high-scoring victories to sit among the leaders, while Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club and Fountain Fort Carson AJROTC each moved to 2-0 with steady team performances. Lafayette Gun Club and Robinson Rifle Team produced the tightest ranked-versus-ranked result of the week, and East Coweta MCJROTC kept its record spotless with a wire-to-wire decision over Eldorado MCJROTC.

Lafayette Gun Club vs. Robinson Rifle Team: Lafayette Gun Club outlasted Robinson Rifle Team, 2,430.2 to 2,407.1, in a ranked matchup that swung early and stayed close. Robinson led by 1.5 after the opening series, but Lafayette edged in front by Stage 2 and nursed one- to single-digit cushions until pulling away late to a 23.1-point final margin. Christina Morris paced Lafayette with 621.5; Robinson’s Annika Cry answered with 618.2.
East Coweta MCJROTC vs. Eldorado MCJROTC: East Coweta MCJROTC posted a controlled 2,369.3–2,323.2 win in a meeting of ranked programs. The lead never ballooned early, growing from 7.7 after Stage 1 to 25.7 by Stage 4, before East Coweta closed at plus-46.1 through the sixth series. Anazley Adams led East Coweta with 607.0, while Eldorado’s Jamie Spoonamore recorded 598.0.
American Legion Post 295 vs. Robert Service High School: The top-ranked team delivered another complete effort, winning 2,444.5 to 2,307. American Legion built its edge across each series—up 16.2 after Stage 1 and 137.5 by the finish—behind 619.9 from Sarah Mix. Robert Service was led by Mylee Flatt at 588.5.
Marksmen Standout Performances
Kelsey Dardas, Fountain Fort Carson AJROTC — Posted 622.5 to lead a 2,419.6 team total at Denver North AJROTC.
Jolynn Mickle, Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club — Fired 617.0 to pace Everett’s 2,411.1 win over Reading Rifle and Revolver Club.
Kaitlyn Smith, C. T. Johnson AJROTC — Turned in 604.7 as Johnson registered 2,337.3 against Orange County AJROTC.
Abigail Riggs, Webb City AJROTC — Delivered 600.4 to headline a 2,310.0 victory at John F. Kennedy AJROTC.
Aly Rock, Cumberland Beagle Club — Notched 597.0 as Cumberland Beagle Club posted 2,376.5 at Central Ark Hawkeyes.
Looking ahead, several early measuring-stick contests headline the third week. American Legion Post 295 meets fellow unbeaten Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club, while Granbury MCJROTC faces Lafayette Gun Club in a cross-program test. Two 2-0 teams, C. T. Johnson AJROTC and Sapulpa MCJROTC, square off, and Robinson Rifle Team and Cumberland Beagle Club renew a top-10 pairing with both entering at 1-1.
