The No Lowballers podcast, produced by GunBroker.com and hosted by firearms historian Logan Metesh of High Caliber History and Allen Forkner of GunBroker, earned both first and second place honors at the 2025 Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers (AGLOW) annual conference.

The No Lowballers episode “Conservation Through the Ages: Connecting History, Hunting and Today’s Efforts” featuring Jim Curcuruto of the Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation, claimed first place in the Podcast or Audio Broadcast category. The episode explored the critical role of hunters, anglers, trappers and shooters (HATS) in conservation funding, along with how excise taxes on firearms and ammunition sustain wildlife management efforts nationwide. Curcuruto also discussed the organization’s Connecting with Conservation initiative, which aims to bridge understanding between outdoor enthusiasts and conservation agencies.

The No Lowballers team also secured second place for its “Trailblazing Technology: How Dan Moultrie Revolutionized Hunting Gear” episode, spotlighting the founder and innovator behind Moultrie trail cameras and feeders. Moultrie shared the story of developing his first game camera from a napkin sketch nearly 50 years ago and reflected on the evolution of wildlife monitoring—from mechanical trip-wire triggers to today’s AI-enhanced cellular systems. The episode celebrated innovation and the enduring relationship between hunters, technology and wildlife management.
