NORTH HAVEN, CT – Mossberg is introducing two new versions of their 940 Pro Tactical 12-gauge, 8-shot autoloading shotgun with Cerakote OD Green or Flat Dark Earth polymer-ceramic finish on the receiver, barrel, and magazine tube. These full-featured, optic-ready autoloaders are designed for quick target acquisition, ease of operation, and adjustability.

Mossberg’s 940 Pro Tactical shotguns are based on a cleaner-running and redesigned gas-operating system that may run up to 1,500 rounds between cleaning intervals. And like all 940 Pro shotguns, the Tactical versions feature internal parts (gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear) with nickel boron-coating and extra finishing for ease of maintenance, corrosion resistance, and smooth, reliable operation. And for added durability, these 940 Pros feature exterior metal surfaces protected by Cerakote.

The 940 Pro Tactical includes a patent-pending, optic-cut receiver for the direct mounting of low-profile, micro dot sights (RMSc footprint). A cover plate is included when an optic is not in use. Other key design features include enlarged and beveled loading port; elongated, pinch-free elevator; bright orange anodized follower; knurled, extended charging handle; and oversized paddle-style bolt release. The extended magazine tube allows for a 7+1 round capacity with 2.75-inch shells and the barrel clamp features a sling swivel stud plus dual-sided M-LOK®-compatible slots for the addition of accessories. The 18.5-inch barrel has a fiber optic front sight and is threaded for use with interchangeable AccuChoke™ choke tubes (Cylinder choke tube included). The receiver is also drilled and tapped for ease of adding rail-mounted optics.

Rounding out the 940 Pro platform is a user-adjustable length-of-pull synthetic stock with a range of 12.5 – 14.25 inches and adjustability for drop at comb and cast with the use of incremental stock shims. The synthetic forend has a slim, ergonomic profile; and both stock and forend feature Mossberg’s signature aggressive texturing for a secure grip and black matte finish. A rear sling swivel stud is also installed.
