All-Day Trolling Motor Runtime, Maximum Thrust, and More

There’s a Norsk Lithium® trolling motor battery solution that’s right for you

If relentless power, thrust, torque, and longevity are what you expect out of your trolling motor, Norsk Lithium® has you covered.

In the Norsk Lithium family, there are numerous 12-, 24- and 36-volt options from which to choose the right battery system for you.

That could mean outfitting with the latest and greatest 36+28V 60Ah for bow-driven power and optimal voltage for forward-facing black boxes, to 24-volt trolling motor options in 60- and 90 Ah, to singular 12 volt 105Ah and 120Ah models that can be run singularly or in series/parallel for any voltage trolling motor, big or small. And all come in heated or unheated versions!

How To Choose the Right Battery For Your Trolling Motor

  1. Determine Your Needs: Do you need to power a trolling motor? And, what voltage? Do you want to power off one battery to save space —or several to create a 24 or 36 volt system? Would you like to take advantage of higher voltage and run your FF Sonar black box off the same battery?
  2. Consider these top 3 priorities: 1) Voltage – The amount of power pushed from the battery into the device. 2) Amp Hours – Abbreviated as Ah, this is the amount of energy charge in a battery that enables 1 ampere of current to flow for one hour, or simply how long the battery can run. 3) Size – All Norsk Lithium batteries adhere to BCI specifications, eliminating the need for oversized, proprietary, expensive battery trays and difficult installations.
  3. Set Your Budget: Utilizing lithium batteries for your boat will save money and time over the long haul. Still, it’s an upfront investment.
  4. Compare features to find the best value. Norsk Lithium packs their batteries with advanced technologies, offering superior performance and reliability. Their cutting-edge solutions provide more bang for your buck compared to the competition, making Norsk Lithium the smart choice for your marine power needs.

Unique Bundle Deals

Speaking of the most bang for your buck, Norsk Lithium has assembled package deals for trolling motors bringing increased savings to anglers/boaters. Have a look and you might be surprised by the savings, especially those bundles with an onboard charger designed specifically for Norsk Lithium batteries!

However, you might rather create your own trolling motor system whether powering a 12-, 24-, or 36-volt unit. It’s not uncommon to run two or three 12V Norsk Lithium batteries for 24V or 36V motors, respectively, while other anglers may prefer one battery due to limited battery space in their boat.

The Flagship Battery – Norsk Lithium 36+28V 60Ah Dual Voltage Battery

The line of Norsk Lithium®?36+28V 60Ah batteries?boast two sets of terminals, offering dual voltage functionality within a single package – providing enhanced trolling with clean, consistent power and maximize the performance of your forward-facing sonar modules to achieve the crisp and interference-free images modern anglers demand.

Outside the box thinking led engineers at Norsk Lithium on a mission to create the most reliable, compact and feature-rich Group 31 deep cycle battery ever imagined, with the groundbreaking ability to not only power your trolling motor at 36V, but to also provide FF Sonar power modules.

The reasoning behind the drive to create this innovative power solution is truly the basis of good product design – they listened to input from forward facing sonar savants from all over the country that have been employing creative,?and often complicated,?methods to pull power from their 36V trolling motor batteries using a mish-mash of wiring, an external regulator, and a cut-off switch or two to achieve their goal of feeding higher voltage power to their sonar modules.?Norsk Lithium engineers took one look at the task at hand, how to kill two birds with one stone, and committed themselves to making the complicated elegantly simple.

Yes, Norsk Lithium’s new line of?36+28V 60Ah batteries conveniently features two sets of independent terminals, offering dual voltage functionality within a single battery. From one set the angler finds 36V power for their trolling motor.?From the other set the option to provide 28V of clean, interference-free, and consistent power to their sonar module to optimize the performance of their trolling motor AND their forward-facing sonar. Best of all, this engineering feat is achieved without the need for complicated wiring, regulators, or shut-off switches.

One esteemed professional bass angler is Bobby Lane, 2022 REDCREST Winner, who is running two of the batteries because he’s been “snake-bit” too many times by other batteries when trying to fish all day and earn a paycheck to add to his $3 million lifetime winnings. That led to Norsk installing a second 36V battery on a switch that Bobby could implement if he ever drained his first – which has never happened.

Lane notes: “The combination of Norsk Lithium and the?Power-Pole Move trolling motor was completely unlike any other boat, trolling motor, and battery combo I’ve ever?run. I could never have done what I just did in New York with that current. I swear, I didn’t even have to crank up my big motor to go up current and make another drift. I put my trolling motor on anchor lock and it would sit absolutely perfect, even in the current. Finally, with Norsk Lithium I?can?go all day. And the beautiful thing is, I?can?see on the Guardian app how many hours my trolling motor will last given the speed it’s on. So, I know if I need to?charge?or not?charge—or slow down or speed up. Having two 36 Volt batteries in the back of my boat is the fail-safe I’d spent years looking for, which gives me an entirely new level of confidence to fish how I need to. I?can?max out my motor all day and not have to worry about any?power?issues. That’s pretty cool.”

“This is the first battery of its kind in the entire marine battery market,” says Norsk Lithium Director of Product Development/Customer Experience, Jakob Hals.

“The reason we designed this battery stems from the importance of providing higher voltage to forward facing sonar systems for longer runtime and cooler, more efficient operation. The same goes for sonar modules where the voltage range can be up to about 32.5V depending on the module manufacturer. Savvy anglers started figuring out that they could feed a higher voltage to their forward-facing sonar to achieve cooler operation, longer runtime, and so many of these anglers on the cutting edge of forward facing sonar use tell us the overall image quality achieved when providing higher-voltage to their systems is significantly improved.”

Hals continues: “If you consider the role of the forward-facing sonar module, it is the brain that processes all the forward-facing sonar transducer information. If the sonar module isn’t provided clean, consistent power it won’t operate at peak efficiency and that’s going to have a negative impact on the overall performance of the sonar units connected to it. The new 36V + 28V Dual Voltage battery makes it so incredibly easy to accomplish both tasks with a single battery that, in addition to the dual voltage capabilities, also offers other exclusive features like the Guardian App integration and Deep Sleep™.

There’s truly no other solution like this and it’s backed by Norsk’s industry-leading 10 + 2 year non-prorated warranty.

And Norsk has built in a comprehensive 2-step approach to power management to ensure that when the battery isn’t in use, power isn’t being drained by the 28V terminals.

Offers Hals: “We use the BMS to track the last time power was drawn from the 28V terminals by a connected sonar module. If there’s no power draw in 60 minutes, the 28V terminals shut off. And those terminals automatically ‘wake up’ if a sonar module turns on and draws current so the user doesn’t have to do anything to ensure battery power isn’t being wasted while totally eliminating the need for a manual shut-off switch to control the 28V power.”

The second step in the company’s approach to power management is found in all Norsk Lithium marine batteries is the ground-breaking addition of Deep Sleep™, a new feature that allows an angler to shut down current to all terminals on all Norsk Lithium batteries installed in a boat with the touch of a button in the Norsk Guardian App.?

Deep Sleep is intended to provide that next level of power management in long or short-term storage by essentially eliminating passive power loss due to faulty wiring that leads to phantom draws that can be hard to track down and even harder to eliminate.?When a battery is placed into Deep Sleep™ all power is cut from the terminals and power isn’t available again until the user deactivates Deep Sleep™.

And let’s not forget to mention the addition of the Battery Management button and integrated battery meter built into the top case of all Norsk Lithium marine batteries. The integrated State of Charge (SOC) battery meter built into the top of the battery provides a quick visual check of the battery’s status without the need for the App on your phone. That battery management button also provides the users with the ability to wake up a battery from Deep Sleep™. Norsk has built in dual redundancy for all features available in the app.

Unbelievable Thrust & Runtime

The 36-volt trolling motor side of the battery provides 60 Amp hours of power that will provide all-day runtime for the vast majority of anglers.?Now, should you use your bow mount electric to troll crankbaits, spinners, or spoons for species like walleye, trout, salmon in lieu of a small gas powered “kicker” outboard hanging off the transom, 2-4 Norsk Lithium 36V + 28V batteries can be wired in parallel for the ultimate “electric-only” trolling experience!?Similarly, many tournament bass and walleye anglers have chosen to run two of the batteries just as a fail-safe to prevent any power loss when competing for big cash. But ask most of them, and they never hit the switch from battery #1 to #2. There’s that much power, even running on full speed nearly all day…
