Wisconsin nature photos will win prizes in the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin's annual contest
Photographers all over the state are sorting through their best photos of Wisconsin's natural beauty, looking for winners.
The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin (NRF) has just opened their 11th annual Photo Contest. Each year, photographers are invited to submit their photos for a chance to win prizes and be featured in Bridges, NRF's magazine. Photos can be submitted anytime between September 17th and November 1st at 11:59pm.
This year, NRF has announced five different categories for photo submissions. The 2024 Photo Contest categories are:
There will be one winner from each category, and one of the category winners will be selected as the grand prize winner. There will also be a People's Choice winner, chosen by the public from a selection of photos.
This year, three NRF staff judges are joined by two guest judges, Julie Spanton and Andy Raupp. Julie Spanton was the winner of the 2023 Photo Contest with her breathtaking image of a sunset on Middle Sugarbush Lake, and Andy Raupp is a well-known Wisconsin photographer whose photos have placed in several previous years' contests, including first place in 2021.
Because of the success of previous years, NRF is preparing for an onslaught of beautiful images. In last year's contest, there were over 600 entries from all over the state. The first place photo was taken in Vilas County, and the other winners were from Marquette County, Dane County, and Racine County. See all last year's winners.
