(Grand Island, Nebr.) — Hornady® congratulates sponsored shooters Sean Murphy and Greg Hamilton on their performance at the Real World Sniper Challenge, April 24-25, 2022, in Refugio, TX.
Murphy and Hamilton took first place using 6.5mm 135 gr. A-Tip® Match bullets in their rifles and 9mm 125 gr. HAP® bullets in their pistols.
"The Real World Sniper Challenge was a challenging match. We had a rough start but doubled down and knew we had to shoot to our potential. Our decision making and shooting were enough to fight back and come out on top,” said Murphy. “With the unknown shooting challenges across varied terrain and in tricky wind conditions, having high-performance ammunition loaded with Hornady bullets and brass provided the performance we needed to earn the points to succeed." Murphy added.
A-Tip® Match bullets feature an aluminum tip that’s precision machined and longer than polymer tips, that moves the center of gravity and enhances inflight stability, resulting in tighter groups and reduced drag variability. In addition, A-Tip bullets are sequentially packaged for the ultimate in consistent performance.
Modeled after the legendary XTP® bullet design, HAP® bullets are further refined into the perfect competition projectile. While XTP® bullets use serrations to aid in controlled expansion and terminal performance, we have eliminated these from HAP® bullets, creating a sleek and balanced projectile with a protected nose that aids in consistent and reliable feeding in auto loading pistols. Bullet jackets, featuring industry leading concentricity combined with precision swaged cores, deliver the very best in accuracy and performance.
