Williamsburg, KY – Screaming Eagle Archery located in Wasilla, Alaska recently held the inaugural 2023 Alaska S3DA Indoor State Championship. The event was a fun-filled day for archers of all ages. They were super excited to compete against each other. Youth Open archer, Breea Holman shot a clean round of 150 with 19 x’s. Everyone was greatly appreciative of Screaming Eagle Archery for helping the kids and hosting the event. Screaming Eagle is a family-oriented full-service pro shop that offers equipment and services to meet your archery needs. The staff is extremely accommodating and encourages all to visit the shop whether you are a seasoned archer or brand new to the sport. Screaming Eagle Archery has an indoor range that consists of twenty lanes, and they offer multiple range rental packages. They celebrated their 10th business anniversary and hosted a customer appreciation day on Saturday, April 8th, 2023.

“Our very first Indoor State Championship was a huge success. We could not have held this event without the support of our local shop Screaming Eagle Archery, our coaches, and the parents and volunteers. We currently have one team that consists of three coaches and eighteen youth participants ranging from six to seventeen years old. As we move into the 3D season, we will work on continuing the growth of the program and adding more teams across the state. Current youth participants are eager for the program to grow and the opportunity to compete more. We have had remarkable support thus far from the community and outdoor programs to help us succeed,” stated Alaska S3DA State Coordinator, Amber Gose.

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of youth archers.
