Hardcore adventurer and award-winning restaurateur Mario Kalpou Offers New Series
DENVER (October 15, 2021) – Man Eats Wild is Outdoor Channel’s newest – and tastiest – food adventure series. In this week’s episode, Mario Kalpou and special guest, Rick Pollack, are off the coast of New Zealand near a live volcano seeking kingfish when the volcano erupts! Tune in for this up-close-and-personal look at the action when “Man Eats Wild” on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET on Outdoor Channel.
Rick Pollack happens to be the current World Record holder for kingfish. But, after a volcanic
int-erupt-ion, the team returns to catch a whopping Bass Grouper for Kalpou to prepare a delicious ceviche dish.
In this Outdoor Channel original series, viewers will follow Kalpou, a hardcore adventurer and award-winning restaurateur, on his journey across the globe in his attempts to harvest wild food in the most extreme environments. Whether diving for lobsters and having a close encounter with a Great White Shark, to stalking Himalayan Tahr above the clouds in New Zealand, Kalpou is on a mission to educate viewers about their food sources – whether it’s from deep in the ocean or high above sea level.
“This show is about reconnecting people with their food,” Kalpou shared. “I like to show people exactly what you are eating by harvesting it yourself. I go out into the world and harvest gourmet food and make incredible dishes. My goal is to demonstrate what you can do with a truly good cut of meat.”
The first season follows Kalpou in the outback of Australia, to the mountains and seas of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Kalpou shares his eventual goal is to cover the entire world showcasing the best of organic, natural food.
Tune in to Man Eats Wild on Outdoor Channel on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. ET. Learn more about Kalpou and his take on the series by listening to him on “The Revolution with Jim and Trav.”
