Pulsar, an industry leader in digital thermal hunting technology, is proud to announce the release of a critical new security update, version x.x.100, designed to protect all current Pulsar devices from escalating cybersecurity threats. This significant firmware upgrade will enhance user protection, improve device stability, and ensure compliance with the latest Internet of Things (IoT) regulations.
The security update will be deployed across all current Pulsar devices in two phases. The first phase includes the following product lines:
- Merger LRF thermal imaging binoculars
- Thermion 2 thermal imaging riflescopes, with and without LRF
- Thermion Duo DXP50/55 multispectral riflescopes
- Digex C50 digital day and night vision riflescope
- Telos thermal imaging monoculars
A second phase will follow later this month, encompassing the remainder of Pulsar’s extensive product range.
How It Works
Upon updating, devices will automatically generate a new, unique password, accessible through the main menu in the Wi-Fi settings section. Users retain the flexibility to change this password to one of their choosing at any time—a feature available before the update. Importantly, if users have previously set a custom password, it will remain unchanged post-update.
Reconnecting Your Smart Device
It should be noted that after this update, all smart devices connected to Pulsar devices must be disconnected and reconnected to device Wi-Fi networks. Due to the new default password change, phones and tablets will no longer be able to establish connections with Pulsar devices. To correct this issue:
1. Go to your smart device’s settings and choose to forget the Wi-Fi networks of any Pulsar devices.
2. Look for the new password in the Wi-Fi settings section in the main menu of your Pulsar device
3. Reconnect your smart device to the Wi-Fi network using the new password.
4. Your smart device and Pulsar device should now be properly connected.
