Indiana American Water Charitable Foundation to present $50,000 grant for Ranney Well Restoration Project July 24

 

WHAT: A grant presentation event to celebrate the award of $50,000 to the Friends of Charlestown State Park for the restoration of a historic Ranney Well at Charlestown State Park.

WHEN: Thursday, July 24 at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Charlestown State Park, Ranney Well site, located along the river between the boat ramp and the overlooks.

PARKING: Parking will be available at the Charlestown Landing lot as well as the Riverside Overlook parking lot.

BACKGROUND: The historic Ranney Well was once part of the former U.S. Army Ammunition Plant. This project will revitalize the space into a dynamic education center that will serve as a hub for students and park visitors to engage with the vital topics of water conservation, sustainable use, and local history.
