Team Lapua’s Erich Mietenkorte emerged victorious at the 2025 Lapua Super Shoot, claiming the coveted Hunting Rifle Championship title during one of the most grueling smallbore rimfire silhouette competitions of the year. Hosted by the renowned Ridgway Rifle Club over Memorial Day Weekend, this year’s championship tested the limits of endurance and precision under extreme conditions.

Competitors faced six 40-shot matches on Saturday and four more on Sunday, firing a total of 400 rounds for record. To put the intensity into perspective, the first day alone equaled the entirety of a typical NRA National Championship, usually held over the course of three days.

The Ridgway Rifle Club, known for its exceptional range and top-tier match management, delivered yet another world-class event. Despite cold, rainy, and windy conditions throughout the weekend, the competition pressed on, and every impact on steel was hard-earned.

In addition to his Hunting Rifle Championship win, Mietenkorte also secured 2nd place in the Standard Rifle Category with a score of 168 out of 200, underscoring his consistency and elite marksmanship across both disciplines.
