SACRAMENTO, CA – This week on The Sporting Chef on Sportsman Channel, Chef Scott Leysath goes back to the basics of wild game cooking. To master the basics means mastering all cooking. Joining Leysath is Stacy Lyn Harris, Chef Rick Vonk, Buddy T and special guest, John Tinger – a local musician and wild game cook to the Huntsville, Alabama area. Tune in to The Sporting Chef exclusively on Sportsman Channel on Sundays at 1:30 PM ET.
“We go to great lengths to make our wild game taste not like wild game,” shared Leysath. “You’ll hear people boast about marinating their wild game for hours upon end and how that is a victory. That isn’t a victory. If your duck doesn’t taste like duck, then you’ve done something wrong. That’s what this week’s show is all about – going back to the basics of wild game cooking to ensure whatever you are cooking tastes exactly like it should.”
As Leysath shows tips and tricks for cooking antlered game, fish, wild turkey and more, joining him on this week’s show include, Stacy Harris creates crabcakes; Chef Rick Vonk shares the basics of making black-tip shark, and of course, there’s Buddy. Also don’t miss special guest John Tinger as he takes a break from playing the guitar to make his version of a tasty goose dish.
