Alachua, FL – John Hemken and Billy Chapman announce the new location for their joint partnership that is creating the new StyleCraft Boats family of fiberglass hulled pontoon boats. Chapman, creator of the Floating Suite mobile lodge, and Hemken, owner of A&M Manufacturing, are designing several models of pontoon boats …..all with premium fiberglass hulls for optimum durability and performance.
The Marlow-Hunter facility, originally built as the home for Hunter Marine, is a 210,000 square-foot boat manufacturing facility that built 1400 plus sailboats/year at its peak with over 400 employees. A&M’s owner, John Hemken, credits David Marlow for giving him the opportunity to bring a boat builder back into the facility. In addition, Marlow-Hunter has transferred the current production of the 15-foot, 18-foot and 22-foot Day Sailor sailboat lines to A&M Manufacturing. A&M will build these Daysailers under the Hunter brand and hope to build other “Hunters” in the future.
The transition began in early September with plans to be fully operational in Alachua by the end of October.
A&M Manufacturing, a 2020 GrowFL “Top 50 Companies to Watch” Honoree, is the manufacturer for the StyleCraft, EliteCraft, WideTide and now Hunter brands.
