Outdoor Channel’s “The Brigade: Race to the Hudson” Premieres Tonight

DENVER – The Outdoor Channel original series The Brigade: Race to the Hudson presented by Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s offers a whole new look at adventure racing as a 10-member team try to collectively make their way along 750 miles of the York Factory Express in 28 days to try and claim a prize of $500,000. The Brigadepremieres Monday, April 22 at 8 p.m.

The debut episode introduces The Brigade of Austin Metheny, Carley Julien, Don Mann, Dylan Applebaum, Kaleb Summers, Leroy Fontaine, Matthew Aird, Traci Kroupa, Tracyn Thayer and Vincent Coulombe. The rules of the expedition are explained, including the importance of the seven caches along the route. Each cache contains a new route book to guide the team to their next cache and inform them about details and options to explore along the route, equipment that will be imperative in surviving the next leg of the journey and supplies to refill depleted stores of food and survival gear. The only way out of the excursion is the self-elimination card, which a member of the team may choose due to physical or mental exhaustion, sickness or injury.

They journey towards Hudson Bay from Castlegard, British Columbia begins with confidence in their individual abilities, but what will make or break their expedition will be The Brigade’s ability to work as a team. With $500,000 on the line and less than a month to reach their destination, the pressure mounts quickly for the adventurers.
