FWP Announces Public Comment Opportunities

Holmgren Ranch Fishing Access Site Habitat Improvement: Draft Checklist EA

FWP is proposing a project to improve the wildlife habitat at Holmgren Ranch Fishing Access Site near Columbus. The 71-acre property was established in 2010 with the construction of a railroad crossing, access road, gravel parking lot, boat launch, and pit latrine.

Million Private Pond Application

A private landowner is proposing to stock Yellowstone cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout into a series of private ponds near Roberts. There are currently six ponds on the Million property, however all ponds are near each other and separated by small earthen dams no more than 20 feet wide. For this reason, FWP is considering permitting them as one pond.

Private Pond Stocking License - Ungersma Pond

A private landowner is proposing to construct a private pond on their property near Kroeger's Pond in Philipsburg. It is fed by well water and has a stand pipe and pond leveler that substantially limits the possibility of fish escaping.

Notice of Region 6 Habitat Conservation Leases

FWP proposes to purchase two long-term habitat conservation leases on approximately 7,141 acres of privately owned property in Region 6. The intent of the conservation lease is to retain blocks of high-priority wildlife habitats while keeping land in working agricultural production.

Notice of Region 4 Habitat Conservation Lease

FWP proposes to purchase a long-term habitat conservation lease on approximately 2,600 acres of privately owned property in Region 4. The intent of the conservation lease is to retain blocks of high priority wildlife habitats while keeping land in working agricultural production.
