(RHINELANDER, WI) – Women of all experience levels are invited to step outside and experience the thrill of the outdoors at the WITO Crescent Lake Camp on Aug. 22-24 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Hosted by the Wisconsin WITO chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, this event offers a day of hands-on activities, skill-building and community in a welcoming, safe environment.
Participants can try their hand at an extensive list of activities, including archery, bowfishing, canning, feather jewelry, outdoor survival and much more, all under the guidance of experienced instructors. No prior experience is necessary — just a willingness to learn and have fun!
"Women of all ages, come explore, learn and have fun,” said Patti Taylor, Wisconsin WITO event coordinator. “Join us in August for a weekend of hands-on learning and fun in the great outdoors.”
Registration costs $280 for adults and $240 for ages 13-17 and includes two nights stay, six meals, four classes and memories to last a lifetime. Classes are first come first serve. Mothers, daughters, sisters and friends are all encouraged to sign up and share in the experience together.
The NWTF’s Women in the Outdoors program was created to provide women with the skills, confidence and community to enjoy outdoor adventures. Over the past decade, female participation in hunting, shooting sports and fishing has grown rapidly, with women now making up more than a quarter of all anglers and representing the fastest-growing segment in hunting and shooting sports. The NWTF is proud to be at the forefront of this movement, ensuring that more women have the resources and opportunities to explore the outdoors.
Local and state NWTF chapters host thousands of similar events nationwide each year through its Education and Outreach programs, helping women gain confidence in outdoor activities and fostering a deeper appreciation for conservation. The demand for such activities among women has been increasing, and the NWTF has been at the forefront of engaging and being a resource for this growing segment of hunters.
