Arizona Mule Deer Organization Receives Award

Phoenix, Arizona – Arizona Mule Deer Organization (AMDO) received a “2019 Arizona Game and Fish Commission Award”, on September 20th. AMDO was selected by the Commission to receive the “Conservation Organization of the Year Award”, for it’s many contributions and accomplishments towards Arizona’s wildlife conservation and outdoor heritage. The award will be presented at the Commission’s Annual Awards Banquet on January 25th, 2020, at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix.

“Arizona Mule Deer Organization is honored to received this special recognition from the Commission”, stated Terry Herndon, Vice President of AMDO. “Our Volunteers work tirelessly to improve habitat for Arizona’s wildlife, mentoring the next generation of Sportsmen / Women through our annual Youth Deer Camps and investing in Arizona wildlife conservation. Every dollar we raise, stay’s right here in Arizona for our struggling wildlife”.

Habitat conservation with an emphasis on water projects, has been a key factor to AMDO’s success. Working directly with the U.S. Forest Service, Arizona Game and Fish, Bureu of Land Management and other agencies has proven to be an effective tool in habitat improvement. “Partnerships are critical when focusing on wildlife conservation”, states Jim Lawrence, President of AMDO. “We have seen tremendous results in partnering with the ranching community, businesses and Governmental agencies, all coming together for the conservation of wildlife”.
