(Accokeek, MD) September 23, 2018 – The first five hunters and five branded A400 Extreme Plus shotguns arrive in Northwestern Saskatchewan this week to kick off the Beretta Torture Tour. The Torture Tour is comprised of four hunts across North America with 20 demanding hunters and the same five branded guns. Beretta designed the daunting season-long Torture Tour to prove the new A400 Xtreme Plus is the waterfowler’s ultimate shotgun.
Five new A400 Xtreme Plus shotguns were branded with the Torture Tour logo and put into crates following the 2018 NRA annual meetings in Dallas. These five guns will be uncrated in Saskatchewan to begin their tour across the North American flyways. The Canadian prairies set the stage for the Torture Tour as the heart of the duck factory and beginning of the migration for North American waterfowl. With large numbers of birds, frequent shooting and unrelenting conditions, it’s the perfect place to start the Torture Tour. Cold, wind, rain, mud, dust, and snow are all possibilities in the prairie province offering Beretta a combination of tough conditions to prove these guns are built for anything and any place you find migrating waterfowl.
Follow along with some of the first hunters who’ll be behind the guns including Nate Hose (@natehosie), Cara Harper (@_caraharper), and Alex Lang (@alexrlang4), as they introduce the branded Torture Tour guns to the field and put them through their paces. At the end of the three day hunt in Saskatchewan, the guns will be crated back up and sent to the second stop on the tour in Utah. The Great Salt Lake is the next location and a whole new set of elements for the guns to endure.

The Gun
Manufactured at the Beretta Italy factory and based on the A400 Xtreme Unico model, the A400 Xtreme Plus model combines the advanced barrel technologies used to excel in the clay shooting world with the needs of the waterfowler.
With the adoption of the Steelium Plus barrel configuration, the Xtreme Plus features a 14-inch forcing cone more than eight inches longer than the standard forcing cone. This new configuration ensures greater recoil reduction, enhanced pattern dispersion, and a greater range. Utilizing Optima-Bore® HP choke tubes, this shotgun offers a superior ballistic performance and guarantees perfect shot pattern in every hunting situation.
The company’s signature Kick-Off Mega system combined with a new Soft-Comb stock ensures there is less felt recoil, making the A400 Xtreme Plus the softest-shooting waterfowl gun available.
This shotgun also utilizes a new step rib with a fiber optic front sight and an integral mid-bead that allows for an optimized sight plane. The receiver features an enlarged loading port, extended charging handle, and bolt release, making it easier to operate the shotgun even while wearing gloves.
