Hardy Lake closed, other Indiana parks open after storm

Hardy Lake in Scottsburg will be closed temporarily to allow staff and utility workers to clean up from storms that swept through southern Indiana this week.

Trees were damaged and powerlines are down throughout the property, which is owned by DNR's Division of State Parks. Hardy will remain closed until the property is safe to re-open.

Cleanup at all other affected state park properties is complete or nearing completion.

State park hiking trails have not been fully assessed after the storm. Guests may encounter downed trees and possible obstacles. Hikers should use caution and obey trail closure signs.
