Maryland delegates from both sides of the aisle attended an afternoon of education, target shooting and fun on June 16 at the Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Center in Phoenix, Maryland. Hosted by sporting industry professionals, the event was organized to help attendees better understand the relationship between shooting sports retailers, manufacturers and recreational shooters. Legislators included existing shooting sports enthusiasts and those unfamiliar to the sport.

Fun was provided in the form of professional instruction on how to break fast-moving clay targets with shotguns. Alongside the challenge of clay shooting, discussions were had on the positive economic impact from shooting sports that are enjoyed by thousands of participants across Maryland every year.

Highland Sporting Outfitter represented the voice of the outdoor retailer and the National Shooting Sports Foundation was on hand as a national advocate and educational organization dedicated to the enjoyment of safe and responsible recreational sport shooting.
