Gunwerks announced today, the introduction of two new suppressor models with engineered optimization for long range hunting rifles and calibers. The Gunwerks 6IX Suppressor is a compact, ultralight model ideal for backcountry hunting and lower profile carry where minimizing weight and bulk are key. The 8IGHT Suppressor from Gunwerks is a slightly larger length and volume for maximum sound suppression in a still manageable package.

Aaron Davidson, CEO of Gunwerks explains, “Long range hunting rifles have become much lighter, just look at our ClymR package that weighs in at 5.7 pounds. As we’ve chased improved ballistic coefficients, the 6.5 and 7 mm bullets with big magnum cases dominate our builds. Current suppressors seem to be optimized for the 5.56 and 7.62 military rounds and we felt that there is a market opportunity for a rugged lightweight suppressor optimized for big magnums like the 28 Nosler.” Davidson adds, “Unless prohibited by law, I will never shoot without a suppressor again!”

The Gunwerks long range hunting suppressors are manufactured from 17-4 PH Stainless Steel and are optimized for strength and weight to handle the biggest ultra mag cartridges up to 30 calibers. Both Gunwerks silencer models are built with a stacked and welded, baffle design with included QD thread adapters for both 1/2x28 and 5/8x24 muzzle threads. They also include 4 interchangeable, caliber-specific (6mm, 6.5mm, 7mm, and 30 cal) muzzle apertures for enhanced sound reduction. Tapered thread mounts, modularity, and common tool fittings put it among the most versatile designs available, and ensure precise, repeatable alignment and performance.
