Overall condition of the case is fair.
Purdey Percussion Double Rifle, 1865

Made around 1865, serial number 6945 is fully matched on barrels, tang, ramrod and bullet mold. The 28.75-inch Damascus barrels measure .435 across the grooves and .405 at the lands. Sights include a blade front and a drift adjustable rear with a fixed leaf marked 100 and a folding leaf marked 200. Hammer safeties retain traces of niter blue, and the rifle shows color case and polished blue elements along with a well-shaped walnut stock. The stock features wrap checkering, a scalloped cheek rest with double shadow lines, a patch box and a checkered metal butt plate with widow’s peak.
