Today, Safari Club International (SCI) announces that Ben Cassidy, Executive Vice President for International Government & Public Affairs, has decided to step down effective December 31, 2024.
Cassidy joined SCI in July 2019 as the Director of Government Affairs and, throughout his tenure, oversaw the organization’s Government Relations, Legal Advocacy, International Affairs, Marketing, and Communications Departments.
“Words cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for SCI and the incredible individuals I had the privilege of working alongside during my five years at the organization,” said Cassidy. “I want to thank SCI CEO Laird Hamberlin, SCI’s staff, volunteer leadership, national and international corporate partners, chapter networks, and membership for the opportunity to lead SCI’s advocacy efforts and defend the freedom to hunt and promote conservation worldwide.”
“It would be impossible to find a hunter anywhere in the world that does not owe a debt of gratitude to Ben Cassidy for his years of contributions and commitment to SCI’s national and international advocacy efforts. Ben’s leadership has guided our team through enormous challenges and to enormous successes, whether it was facing down numerous threats against hunters’ rights and wildlife conservation or helping secure a historic electoral victory that was a win for sportsmen and women worldwide,” said SCI CEO W. Laird Hamberlin. “We wish Ben all the best in his next endeavor.”
