The Langenfeld Foundation's Wounded Warrior Outreach fundraiser is on Sunday, September 22, 2013.
It will be at the Bierstube Steakhouse and Grill, 109 W. 11th St., Hastings, MN 55033; (651) 437-8259. The event will run from 11am to 3pm, during the Minnesota Vikings football game, broadcast on several big screen TVs in the restaurant.
Former NFL and Vikings player, Corbin Lacina, will be present to meet people, take pictures with folks, and sign autographs. Other Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers players have also been invited.
There will be a silent auction with many great items to bid on. For example: NFL MVP Rich Gannon autographed football, Stu Voigt signed mini-helmet, bobble heads, signed hats and 8x10 photos.
There will also be a number of wounded warriors present. Attendees can have the opportunity to speak with them and hear their stories of service and sacrifice for our country.
Paul Langenfeld, founder and president of The Langenfeld Foundation, was born and raised in Hastings, Minnesota. He named the 2006 foundation in honor of his parents, Tony and Elizabeth Langenfeld, who are still alive and residing in Hastings. Paul expanded the foundation in 2009, by creating the Wounded Warrior Outreach, to benefit disabled veterans.
The Langenfeld Foundation was established to create, support, and encourage opportunities for those with mental, physical, and developmental disabilities to participate in fishing, hunting, nature, and sport activities. Over the last year they have taken people afield for deer and turkey hunting, fishing and nature hiking, and a Afghanistan war wounded warrior on African safari.
They have received prestigious awards: the Humanitarian Award from the University of St. Thomas, as well as an award from the Congress of the United States of America. They have been featured on many TV shows, radio programs, plus magazine and newspaper articles. Shows include: Minnesota Bound with Ron Schara, On the Road with Jason Davis, Kent Hrbek Outdoors, and Sports to the Max on WCCO Radio.
