Daniel Defense #3 Chevrolet Camaro at Darlington Raceway

Black Creek, GA– Daniel Defense, manufacturer of the world’s finest firearms and accessories, is pleased to announce the return of the Daniel Defense No. 3 Car in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 this weekend. The race will take place at Darlington Raceway on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. EST.

The Darlington race will mark Daniel Defense’s reentry to the NASCAR Xfinity series as a primary sponsor of the Richard Childress Racing No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro. Sponsoring three Xfinity races in 2017, the company is pleased to put the Daniel Defense No. 3 Car through its paces again at the “Seven Decades of NASCAR” celebration in Darlington.

“We’re very excited to be back as a primary sponsor of RCR’s No. 3 Car this year,” said Daniel Defense Executive VP/CMO Cindy Daniel. “When we made our entrance into racing last year, the NASCAR community was very accepting and welcomed us with open arms. We’re proud to lend our support again this year to an industry that stands for freedom and Second Amendments rights.”

The legendary No. 3 Car, driven by RCR Xfinity Series driver Ty Dillon, will be fully wrapped in Daniel Defense’s yellow and black with their signature double D’s displayed on the hood. In honor of the Seven Decades of NASCAR celebration, the car will feature a throwback paint scheme modeled after Dillon’s championship-winning No. 41 RCR Chevrolet Impala, which earned him 7 wins in the ARCA Racing Series in 2011.

No stranger to Darlington Raceway, Dillon is ready to hit the asphalt in the Daniel Defense Chevy this weekend.

"I love going to Darlington,” said Dillon. “I fall more and more in love with it each time that we go back. You have to take care of your equipment when you're there, and I enjoy that style and mentality of racing. It's one of the few old-school races that we have left in that sense. I always circle Darlington on my calendar at the start of each season, so I'm excited to jump behind the wheel of the Daniel Defense Chevy for the Xfinity Series race this weekend."

Daniel Defense’s NASCAR return is part of an evolving partnership with Richard Childress Racing. The Daniels became acquainted with NASCAR Hall of Fame team owner Richard Childress through their involvement with the National Rifle Association. Currently serving as the First Vice President for the National Rifle Association, Richard Childress is no stranger to the firearms industry. “Our shared core values and specifically, a commitment to the Second Amendment, has shaped the relationship we have today,” said Daniel.

Richard Childress’ youngest grandson, Ty Dillon, will serve as the primary driver of the #3 car during the Darlington race. Dillon, who has competed in the XFINITY Series full time in each of the last three seasons, will race select NXS races in 2018 while also competing full time in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. During the 2017 season, Dillon recorded three top-five and 16 top-10 finishes during 27 starts in the No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro.
