In less than 3 years as Athlon Outdoors Sr. Director of Marketing and Operations, Carrie Roeder helped convert a male-dominated, newsstand-driven magazine company into a dynamic, brand-centric multimedia leader. By restructuring the media portfolio into four distinct brand channels, adding cutting-edge digital solutions and software to build Native advertising and streaming video operations, maximizing digital efficiencies, developing new sponsored sales opportunities, reimagining 3 websites and launching 4 new websites, she helped propel Athlon Outdoors into a leader in its genre. In addition, she leads several major offsite events each year, hosting a mix of advertising clients, content creators and executives numbering in the hundreds (including Athlon Outdoors’ Editorial Rendezvous, a multi-day rotational conference).
In the past 2 years, Athlon Outdoors tripled advertising revenue, developed the largest digital audience among any of its competitors, helped grow an opt-in digital list to nearly 700,000 emails (from scratch!), and established cutting-edge delivery software on four websites. Today, Athlon Outdoors operates 7 websites; 21 social media channels; numerous e-newsletters; podcasts; video hosting, streaming and production services; and works with advertising clients to deliver multi-platform programs providing targeted solutions to marketing challenges.
