The Good Guys Always Wear "Wardens" Green Every Friday, Starting at 8 p.m. ET
DENVER – Outdoor Channel, Presented by Canik, proudly dedicates its Friday prime block (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET) to the thin green line of hard-working game wardens and conservation officers who spend every day protecting and defending America's wildlife and wild places and keeping the community of hunters, fishers and outdoors enthusiasts safe and successful. Well-known Perry, Michigan-based Wolf Creek Productions has been the team behind Wardens since 2011, and they've partnered once more with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Outdoor Channel to give viewers an exclusive look at the busy, action-packed lives of conservation officers and DNR employees who play a vital role in resource conservation, enforcing hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation laws but also educating the general public and outdoors enthusiasts. Conservation officers put their lives on the line every day to protect the country's precious natural treasures, and Wardens and Wardens: Case Files give viewers a first-hand look at what it takes to get the job done. Tune in every Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. ET for back-to-back episodes of Wardens, and then at 9:00 p.m. for the season premiere of Wardens: Case Files, followed by another great episode of Wardens: Case Files.
This week's Wardens broadcast is preempted by two very special presentations – back-to-back episodes of Nick's Wild Ride with Nick Hoffman (7:00 p.m. ET) and Nick Hoffman Presents: What are the Odds? (7:30 p.m. ET) Then, don't miss Chris Dorsey Reports: The Truth About Polar Bear Hunting (8:00 p.m. ET), which uncovers the problems with trophy import bans and highlights the pragmatic role hunting plays in wildlife conservation.
The following shows are part of the regular "Friday Night Wardens" block:
Wardens – 8:00 & 8:30 p.m. ET: When your job is protecting precious natural resources in some of the nation's most remote areas, there is rarely a dull moment. In this week's first episode, "Counting Shells," Michigan Conservation Officers use canoes to work silently across the state's largest game area to enforce waterfowl regulations. Then an officer oversees a class trip to a pheasant field. In this week's second episode, "Shed Hunting," the first morning of shed-hunting proves to be a bit like Christmas morning; however, a few of the revelers are willing to break the law for a crack at a monster shed. Then wardens in Montana are on the lookout for an offender who is no stranger to run-ins with the law.
Wardens: Case Files – 9:00 & 9:30 p.m. ET: This captivating program tells the behind-the-scenes stories of game wardens and conservation officers taking on their most challenging and even dangerous cases. These are true crime stories in the wild! In this week's premiere episode, "War in the Valley," those sworn to protect nature become unwilling combatants on the frontlines of a growing and dangerous war. In the second episode, "Warden's Worst Nightmare," a game warden is called to pursue a murdering madman.
This month don't miss The Gamekeepers of Mossy Oak, Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET, Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. ET, Friday at 7:30 a.m. ET and Sundays at 11:30 a.m. ET. Exploring the intersection of hunting, fishing, wildlife science and conservation, this program corresponds to Mossy Oak's popular "Gamekeepers Podcast," so be sure to listen in each week to take a deeper dive. In this week's episode, "Gamekeepers Podcast #344 – Kyle Lybarger on Native Plants," the team talks about the Native Habitat Project with Kyle Lybarger. Lybarger and partner Luke Chaffee are sounding the alarm on the importance of saving native species and fighting invasives.
