The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) is pleased to announce the reopening of the newly renovated shooting ranges at Lexington and Canton Wildlife Management Areas.
The Lexington range is located about 45 minutes south of the Oklahoma City metro. It now features a 30-yard pistol range with four covered shooting benches, and two 100-yard rifle ranges with six covered shooting benches each, a trap range and an archery range including an elevated shooting platform, ADA access throughout, and parking.
The Canton range is located on the east side of Canton Lake in northwestern Oklahoma. It now features a 50-yard pistol range, a 100-yard and 200-yard rifle ranges with four covered shooting benches each, a trap range and an archery range including an elevated shooting platform, ADA access throughout, and parking.

The Lexington and Canton projects are the latest completions in a campaign that ODWC began in 2015 to enhance public shooting opportunities across the state. Through a combination of new range construction and extensive renovations and expansions on WMAs, ODWC is ensuring recreational shooters, competitive shooters and hunters have safe, accessible places to enhance their skills.
ODWC has completed 13 shooting range projects since 2017, with over a dozen additional sites to be newly built or upgraded.
For all ODWC shooting ranges, users are required to hold a valid Oklahoma hunting license or combination hunting and fishing license, unless exempt.
