Registration is now open for spring 2027 Nature Awaits fourth grade field trips! This fun and engaging opportunity allows fourth grade students to visit a Michigan state park and take part in a field trip aligned to state learning standards, led by Michigan Department of Natural Resources educators. The field trip is FREE and is open to public, private and charter schools.
Due to changes in funding for spring 2027, transportation costs up to $1,000 may be reimbursed through the Wheels to Water Grant Program. Grants are available for field trips between March 1 and May 31, 2027, and applications are due by Dec. 18, 2026. Register for your field trip today so you can apply for grant funding before the upcoming due date.
Teachers can choose the date, time and park that suits their students best. If you don't see a date or location that works for your class, reach out to us at DNR-NatureAwaits@Michigan.gov or call 1-833-660-6300.
