Wild Giants is working to rewild the Caucasus by restoring wildlife populations, protecting habitat and creating sustainable conservation models that benefit both wildlife and local communities. Its first major initiative is underway in the Republic of Georgia, where the organization has acquired a 305-acre property that will serve as the foundation for a wildlife breeding and restoration program.
Construction of the first breeding facility is planned to begin later this year, with Bezoar Ibex among the first species targeted for restoration. Future efforts will focus on additional native species, including East and West Caucasian Tur, Armenian Mouflon, Caspian Red Deer and Persian Leopard.
