Limited-time program gives qualifying Dakota Lithium owners a Power Recovery Credit
New Hope, Minn. Norsk Lithium has launched its new Power Recovery Program, a limited-time promotional program created for qualifying *Dakota Lithium® owners who have previously sought assistance for unresolved technical, support or warranty concerns and are exploring alternative battery solutions.
Open from October 1 through December 31, 2026, the program allows qualifying customers to apply for a Power Recovery Credit toward eligible Norsk Lithium products. Approved applicants have 30 calendar days from the date their credit is issued to redeem it, even when that period extends beyond December 31.
The program is designed to make the transition to Norsk Lithium straightforward. Customers identify the Dakota Lithium battery they currently own, and Norsk's online application presents either the Closest Norsk Match or an Upgraded Norsk Match, giving anglers an immediate starting point for evaluating a new power system.
"The Power Recovery Program was created to give anglers another option," said Jakob Hals, Director of Product Technology at Norsk Lithium. "A lot of customers have made significant investments in lithium power, and when they're ready to explore something different, we want to make that process simple. We can help identify the Norsk battery that best fits their existing setup, show them the technology and features available in that system, and, if they qualify, provide a Power Recovery Credit to help make the transition."
A Changing Landscape for Dakota Lithium Owners
The program comes following Dragonfly Energy's acquisition of substantially all operating assets associated with the Dakota Lithium brand earlier this year.
Dakota Lithium subsequently published a new Limited Warranty effective September 15, 2026. According to Dakota Lithium, that current warranty applies to covered products sold on or after September 1, 2026. Products purchased before September 1 are handled separately through Dragonfly Energy's Legacy Customer Support Program, which the company describes as a voluntary goodwill accommodation separate from the current Dakota Lithium Limited Warranty.
Norsk Lithium's Power Recovery Program is independent of both companies. It does not assume, administer, replace or modify a Dakota Lithium or Dragonfly Energy warranty or the Legacy Customer Support Program. The program instead provides another option for qualifying customers who have previously sought assistance and are looking for a different battery, technology and support experience.
Finding the Right Norsk Battery Without the Guesswork
One of the central features of the Power Recovery Program is an online matching process designed to make switching battery systems easier.

Customers enter their contact information and select the Dakota Lithium battery they currently own. The application then displays the Closest Norsk Match or Upgraded Norsk Match, allowing customers to quickly identify the Norsk product that best aligns with their existing battery or offers an upgrade in capacity, built-in technology, or both.
Applicants provide proof of ownership along with documentation supporting their reported concern and submit the application for review.
Anglers with multiple batteries can add additional batteries to the same application. If their specific model is not listed, they can provide the battery information for Norsk to review and identify the closest applicable option.

If approved, the customer receives an email identifying the Power Recovery Credit, the Norsk product or products eligible for the offer and the expiration date. Credit amounts and eligible products may vary by applicant and battery.
Participation does not require the customer to return or surrender the existing Dakota Lithium battery, and participating in the Norsk program does not require the customer to waive warranty rights they may have with Dakota Lithium, Dragonfly Energy or another third party.
A Switch Some of Norsk's Pros Have Already Made
For professional walleye angler and two-time NWT Angler of the Year Dewey Hjelm, the concept behind the program is especially relevant.
Hjelm has firsthand experience running different lithium battery systems and now relies on Norsk Lithium in his tournament setup, giving him a clear perspective on what matters when making a change.
"I've run different lithium systems, so I know what it's like to make that change and figure out what the right setup looks like," said Dewey Hjelm. "What stood out to me with Norsk was that it wasn't just about putting another lithium battery in the boat. It's the complete system, the battery technology, the Guardian App, charging, and the support behind it. I think the Power Recovery Program is a great way for anglers who are considering a change to see what Norsk can offer and make that transition a lot easier."
Hjelm currently runs five Norsk Lithium batteries in his boat and has shared how much he appreciates the combination of Norsk's DC-to-DC charging, Guardian monitoring, and Deep Sleep™ technology in his tournament setup.
Professional walleye angler John Hoyer also brings years of experience with demanding tournament battery systems and now competes using Norsk Lithium power.
"Our boats have become incredibly power hungry," said Hoyer. "You're running trolling motors on 10 all day, multiple graphs, live sonar, and accessories, and you need to know your power system is keeping up. For me, the advantage of Norsk is being able to see what's happening with my batteries and having products built around how we actually use our boats today as tournament anglers."
Built for Today's Bass Boat, Too
Those demands are not unique to walleye fishing.
Today's tournament bass boats routinely depend on high-output trolling motors, multiple large electronics displays, forward-facing sonar, livewell systems, pumps, lighting and accessories, while still requiring dependable starting power from the same electrical system.
Two-Time Bassmaster Elite Series Pro Pat Schlapper relies on Norsk Lithium both on the water and on the road. His Norsk setup extends beyond his tournament boat to the camper he uses while traveling the professional tournament circuit.
"Everything in the boat has to work from takeoff to weigh-in, but for me the power demands don't stop when I get back to the ramp," said Schlapper. "I'm traveling and living out of my camper throughout the season, so I rely on Norsk in both places. What I like is that there's a solution built around the application, whether that's starting power, trolling motors, electronics or powering the camper when I'm on the road. Programs like this are one of the reasons I'm proud to represent Norsk Lithium."
Schlapper has previously spoken about the importance of dependable power in both his tournament boat and camper, where his electronics, trolling motor and travel setup all depend on Norsk Lithium throughout the season.
Norsk's presence in professional bass fishing extends well beyond a single setup. Its current roster includes Schlapper alongside REDCREST Champion and Bassmaster Elite Series winner Bobby Lane, giving Norsk a strong presence across some of the most demanding tournament environments in the sport.
"Tournament fishing puts your equipment through a lot, and power is something you simply can't afford to question during the day," said Bobby Lane. "I've come to rely on Norsk for the confidence that my trolling motor and electronics system are going to be there when I need them. That's why a program like this makes sense. It gives more anglers an opportunity to take a closer look at what Norsk can bring to their boat."
Together with walleye pros Dewey Hjelm and John Hoyer, Schlapper and Lane demonstrate Norsk's performance at the highest levels of bass and walleye competition, where the demands placed on anglers and their equipment are among the toughest in the industry.

A Different Kind of Lithium Experience
As lithium batteries have become more common in fishing, Norsk says the buying decision has evolved beyond simply choosing lithium over lead-acid.
Battery construction, application-specific engineering, onboard management, charging compatibility, cold-weather capability and customer support can all play a role in how a power system performs over years of use.
Norsk's marine lineup is built around specific applications including outboard starting and house power, trolling motors, and dedicated marine electronics. Depending on the battery, available technology includes:
- Norsk Guardian® App integration a free app for monitoring battery status and managing compatible battery functions.
- Emergency Start Reserve [ESR], which reserves a portion of capacity on starting batteries for starting support when activated.
- Voltage Transient Suppression [VTS] - a critical safety feature that continuously safeguards your outboard's charging system and the accessories connected to your starting battery.
- Deep Sleep™, which allows compatible batteries to disconnect power at the terminals to reduce unwanted draw during storage.
- Thermal Core Heating Technology™ on applicable models for safe charging in cold-weather.
- Advanced battery-management protections for overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuit and temperature conditions.
- Dual-voltage battery options designed to power both high-demand trolling motors and Forward Facing Sonar modules from a single battery platform.
- EVO-TEC™ onboard and DC-to-DC charging systems recharge batteries on the water, keeping anglers powered up throughout the day.

For example, Norsk's 12V 180Ah Heated Marine Cranking Battery combines Emergency Start Reserve (ESR), Voltage Transient Suppression (VTS), Deep Sleep™, Norsk Guardian connectivity, and Thermal Core Heating Technology™, with a rated cycle life of more than 4,000 cycles.
For anglers running multiple large-screen displays and the latest forward-facing sonar technology, the Norsk 16V 135Ah MaxRT Battery is built for maximum runtime. Its higher-voltage, high-capacity platform is designed to keep power-hungry sonar and marine electronics running longer and more efficiently throughout long days on the water, giving serious anglers the reserve capacity needed for demanding tournament and all-day fishing setups.
Introduced in 2023, the Norsk 36V + 28V 60Ah Dual Voltage Battery is designed to deliver maximum thrust and all-day runtime for trolling motors while also providing a dedicated 28V output for forward-facing sonar modules. By powering compatible FFS systems at 28 volts, anglers can help those electronics operate more efficiently while consolidating trolling-motor and sonar power into one advanced dual-voltage battery platform.
All Norsk Marine Batteries carry a published rating of 4,000+ cycles, an estimated 15-20-year design life and a 10-year non-prorated warranty with an additional two years available through Guardian registration.
Norsk's EVO-TEC On-Board Chargers lineup includes 1-bank, 2-bank, and 3-bank onboard charger configurations, giving anglers options for everything from single-battery systems to more complex multi-battery setups. The lineup also includes four DC-to-DC chargers in 12V, 16V, 24V, and 36V configurations, allowing anglers to build a charging system around their specific battery bank and application. Together, the EVO-TEC platform is engineered to optimize charging performance across Norsk Lithium marine systems and support the advanced features built into its batteries.
"There are more lithium choices in the fishing market than ever before, but anglers are starting to look beyond the amp-hour number on the label," said Benjamin Larson, Director of Marketing. "They're asking how the battery is built, what happens when temperatures drop, how they're going to monitor it, and how it integrates with their charging system. That's where we believe Norsk separates itself. We're building complete power solutions around the way people actually fish and travel."
To help customers understand those build-quality differences, Norsk breaks down what separates Cheap Lithium vs. Norsk Lithium: from cells and construction to built-in protection, monitoring, cold-weather performance, and application-specific technology.
