Guns.com today announced the launch of an exclusive auction featuring a highly collectible Arsenal Silver Jubilee AK-74. A rare firearm created to commemorate Mikhail Kalashnikov's 90th birthday and the 35th anniversary of the AK-74, it is part of a Jubilee Series of rifles designed in 2009. The auction is now open and will run through October 25, giving gun owners an opportunity to bid on a rare piece of AK history.
One of 400 produced, this Russian-manufactured AK-74 rifle features black polymer furniture with a glossy black steel receiver and a real silver inlay for the markings on the receiver, which include the Russian designer's signature and full printed name, along with "90th Anniversary" and his birth date: November 10, 1919.
The rifle includes:
· Certificate of authenticity
· Original Arsenal commemorative box
· Velvet-lined wooden display case
· Two Bulgarian Circle 10 magazines (10 and 30 round capacity)
Kalashnikov himself oversaw the production of the commemorative series through a collaboration between Arsenal Inc. and Russian AK manufacturer Izhmash, now part of the Kalashnikov Concern. Kalashnikov's signature is engraved on the receiver of each rifle, and each serial number begins with his initials – "MTK."
