Bighorn Sheep Restoration Advisory Panel to Meet Oct. 7

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will host an introductory meeting of the Bighorn Sheep Restoration Advisory Panel on Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be held virtually and will focus on welcoming panel members, reviewing the panel's purpose and tasks, providing an opportunity for public comments, and establishing a schedule and format for future meetings.

The advisory panel was convened to provide input and recommendations on strategies for restoring bighorn sheep populations in Montana, particularly in areas that are predominantly private land. During this introductory meeting, panel members will receive an overview of their roles and responsibilities, discuss the timeline for panel work, and identify key topics for subsequent meetings.

Members of the public are invited to listen in and will have an opportunity to provide comments during a designated public comment period.

The link to join and comment during the Zoom meeting, meeting agenda, and additional background materials are available on the FWP website here. For more information about this advisory panel or the upcoming meeting, please contact Kelly Proffitt at kproffitt@mt.gov.

FWP staff recognize the public's interest in bighorn sheep conservation and encourage their participation in this advisory process.
