Travelers' Rest State Park near Lolo will continue its "Trekker Kids" program series every Saturday in October beginning at 11 a.m. These free, interactive programs are open to kids and their families.
The one-hour programs run every each Saturday in October beginning at 11 a.m.:
- Oct. 3: Living with Fire
- Oct. 10: Wild with Wolves
- Oct. 17: Candle Making
- Oct. 24: Animal Wonders (see a few live animals!)
- Oct. 31: Corpse of Discovery (celebration of the Halloween season: costumes encouraged)

Travelers' Rest State Park shifts to winter hours beginning Oct. 1. The visitor center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday. The visitor center will also be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
The park entrance gate will remain open to vehicles daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., except on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Pedestrian entrances and park trails are open from sunrise to sunset every day of the year.
