Pass It On – Outdoor Mentors, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects youth with volunteer adult mentors through hunting, fishing, trapping, and sport shooting, today announced a donation of five Savage Arms Axis 2 Pro 250th Edition rifles, chambered in .308 Winchester. The rifles will be used to support Outdoor Mentors' fundraising efforts, generating vital resources that fund one-on-one mentoring experiences for youth ages 10 to 22.
The gift continues a multi-year partnership between Savage Arms and Outdoor Mentors, through which Savage has provided firearms, equipment, and financial support to help the organization expand its reach and recruit and train new mentors across the country. The five 250th Edition rifles represent the latest expression of that commitment, and Outdoor Mentors plans to announce details soon on how supporters can participate in the fundraising effort built around them.
"Savage has always believed that getting kids into the outdoors is essential to the future of our pastime and our conservation efforts, and this donation is one more way we can put that belief into action," said Beth Shimanski, Vice President of Marketing at Savage Arms and a board member of Outdoor Mentors. "These 250th Edition rifles were built to mark a milestone for our country, and there's no better way to honor that milestone than to help introduce the next generation to hunting and the outdoors. We're proud to keep standing behind the work Outdoor Mentors does every day."
Each Axis 2 Pro rifle carries the hallmarks of Savage's Axis platform, including the user-adjustable AccuTrigger, a Cerakote-finished action, and a threaded barrel, built on a rifle line trusted by hunters nationwide. The 250th Edition models donated to Outdoor Mentors add a commemorative finish to that proven platform, making them a distinctive centerpiece for the organization's fundraising efforts.
"Savage Arms has been an incredible partner to Outdoor Mentors, and this donation is a perfect example of why," said Steve Windom, Development Director at Outdoor Mentors. "Every dollar we raise from these rifles goes directly toward our programming and expansion efforts to increase our impact. We're grateful for Savage's continued generosity and for making great firearms that give our supporters something special to rally around."
Outdoor Mentors will share details on how the rifles will be made available to supporters, including dates and how to participate, in the coming weeks.
