Driving Conservation with AZSFWC License Plate Grants

Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Conservation (AZSFWC) recently completed their 3rd Quarter Grant assessment by awarding $45,320 in grants from their L. Gary Stinson Grant Fund to nine different qualified Arizona non-profit organizations.

AZSFWC's Stinson Grants focus on three categories: Habitat Conservation, Conservation Education, and Youth Recruitment and Retention. This quarter's grants fell in all three categories.

Habitat Grants included: Aquatic and Riparian enhancement for Chiricahua Leopard frogs, Bentonite for three water tanks, Improving Bluebird habitat in the Santa Rita Mountains, and Equipment for wildlife corridor work.

Education Grants included: Sheep Hunter Clinic, Raptor Education program, and the Hotel Saguaro Education program.

Youth Recruitment and Retention Grants included: Youth Deer Camp, and AZ SCTP Commissioner's Cup Championship Shooting Vests.

The L. Gary Stinson Grant Fund is made possible by the revenue generated from the AZSFWC "Conserving Wildlife" license plate program in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). For each plate purchased, ADOT donates $17 to AZSFWC's Grant Fund.

Year to date in 2026, AZSFWC has awarded $250,745 to 19 Arizona non-profit organizations.

AZSFWC's drive to fund conservation in Arizona continues moving down the road.
