The annual Autumn Harvest Hoedown is coming to Pokagon State Park from 7:30 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, in the park's main beach parking lot. The Spy Run String Band will be playing traditional dance music in Midwestern- and Southern-inspired styles for this event, which has been a tradition for more than 45 years. The caller will lead dancers in the steps, so no experience is required. More than a hundred dancers grace the parking lot each year, so come and join in the fun.
Comfortable shoes and blankets or chairs are recommended. The event is sponsored by the Steuben County Tourism Bureau, and the Friends of Pokagon, Inc. will be offering fresh apple cider from Stroh Orchard in Angola, Indiana, and bags of popcorn for suggested donations during the event, while supplies last.
Regular Park entrance fees of $7 per Indiana vehicle and $15 per out-of-state vehicle will apply.
