LOLO – Travelers' Rest State Park near Lolo is hosting an evening "Lewis and Clark After Dark" astronomy event on Wednesday, August 12 from 9-11 p.m. The free event is offered in association with Western Montana Astronomical Association.
An education program about constellations, meteors and celestial navigation that Lewis and Clark used is planned for 9:30 p.m. Following the presentation, participants will go outside and view the night sky.
To register, follow this link or call 406-273-4253. Participants should consider bringing binoculars and a chair or blanket for outdoor seating. Other optional items include a red-light flashlight or headlight, water, snacks and extra layers for the evening weather.

The park includes the only archaeologically verified campsite of the Lewis & Clark Expedition and is an important cultural site for the Séliš and Ql̓ispé people.
