Statewide Fisheries Management Plan Meeting Aug. 27 in Miles City

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will host a meeting in Miles City on Aug. 27 to discuss and answer questions about the proposed 2027-30 Statewide Fisheries Management Plan.

FWP staff will hold meetings across the state to discuss updates to the plan. The Region 7 meeting is in Miles City on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. at Miles Community College Room 106. There will also be a statewide virtual meeting on Aug. 21 at noon.

The plan identifies statewide fisheries-management goals, priorities and strategies intended to sustain and enhance Montana's fisheries and angling opportunities.

Updated every four years, the plan allows FWP staff to address emerging management priorities, incorporate new population-trend data and other information, revise conservation strategies as needed and respond to changing fish populations and habitat conditions.
