After a temporary emergency closure in June, Idaho Fish and Game has reopened the parking area at the Crystal Lake access site, located about two miles east of Priest River along Highway 2.

The closure was necessary after a sinkhole was discovered beneath the roadway that posed a hazard to vehicles. While completing the necessary repairs, Fish and Game staff also took the opportunity to make improvements to the boat ramp and trim trees around the site.

Fish and Game appreciates the public's patience while the site was closed for repairs. The parking area is now open, and the site is safer and more usable for anglers and other recreationists.

Fish and Game owns and manages fishing and boating access sites across the state to provide places for anglers and other recreationists to access Idaho's waters. Maintaining these sites—from boat ramps and parking areas to docks, roads and restrooms—is an ongoing effort to keep them safe and accessible for the public.
