Safari Club International Expands Texas Footprint with Three New Chapters

Safari Club International (SCI) is proud to announce the chartering of three new chapters in Texas, further strengthening its commitment to defending hunters' rights, promoting sustainable-use wildlife conservation, and protecting the future of hunting for generations to come.

The new chapters will serve as local hubs for hunter advocacy, conservation initiatives, member engagement, fundraising, education, and community outreach. Together, they will expand SCI's grassroots presence across Texas and provide sportsmen and women with new opportunities to support and advance the organization's mission.

"Our expansion in Texas reflects the need for strong leadership to represent and protect the interests of hunters," said W. Laird Hamberlin, CEO of Safari Club International. "Hunters across Texas are looking for an organization that is focused, effective, and unapologetic in its defense of hunting and conservation. These new chapters are a direct response to that demand and another sign of SCI's growing momentum."

The newly chartered chapters include:

  • East Texas Chapter – Tyler
  • Lone Star Chapter – Dallas
  • Big Country Chapter – Abilene

Texas has long been one of the nation's leading states for hunting and conservation, with generations of sportsmen and women fostering a strong outdoor heritage rooted in stewardship, access, and responsible wildlife management. For decades, SCI has worked alongside Texas hunters, landowners, outfitters, and conservation leaders to help protect that legacy and ensure future generations can continue to enjoy the freedom to hunt.

The addition of these new chapters strengthens SCI's ability to engage hunters at the local level, support conservation efforts, and advocate for policies that protect hunting opportunities across the state. From community engagement and grassroots action in Texas to policy leadership in Washington, D.C., SCI works at every level to defend hunters' rights and promote science-based wildlife conservation. By building a stronger local network, SCI is creating more opportunities for members to make a meaningful impact in their communities while contributing to the broader fight to protect hunting's future nationwide.
