Wild Giants Conservation Fund announces that Grand Slam Club/Ovis (GSCO) has pledged a five-year commitment to support the organization's mission of rewilding the Caucasus. The commitment will help advance rewilding, habitat restoration, education, and community-led conservation efforts throughout the Republic of Georgia.
Stretching between Europe and Asia, the Republic of Georgia is home to some of the most breathtaking mountain landscapes on Earth. Once rich with native wildlife, much of this ancient landscape have fallen silent as key species disappeared from their historic range. Wild Giants exists to reverse that story by bringing wildlife back where it belongs and restoring one of the world's great wild places.
For nearly 70 years, Grand Slam Club/Ovis has championed wildlife conservation through the support of responsible hunters. The organization has helped protect wild sheep, wild goats, and other iconic species around the world, making its commitment a natural fit with Wild Giants' vision to restore the Caucasus and inspire a new generation of conservation.
"Grand Slam Club/Ovis is excited to partner with Wild Giants Conservation Fund to restore Bezoar Ibex and other native ungulates to the Republic of Georgia where they were previously extirpated. GSCO's five-year pledge provides more than financial support. It provides the long-term commitment needed to plan boldly, by restoring wildlife, strengthening local conservation efforts, and building lasting momentum for rewilding the Caucasus.
