Bats the Focus of Fort Robinson Presentation

Fort Robinson State Park will host an evening of bat exploration with Creatures of the Night: Bats on July 17.

Join parks educators and wildlife biologists for a family-friendly evening discovering the fascinating world of bats.

Get an up-close look at these secretive nocturnal creatures and learn about the important roles they play in the ecosystem. Find out how researchers are working to protect bat species across Nebraska and beyond. The evening includes a presentation and, weather permitting, a chance to observe bats in their natural habitat.

This free program is in partnership with wildlife biologists from the Pine Ridge Ranger District on the Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands.

Meet at the parking lot just west of the riding stables at 8:30 p.m. Mountain time. Be prepared for an 800-foot hike on uneven terrain to the capture site.

A Nebraska Vehicle Park Entry Permit is required.
