When like-minded people who share deep passions get together for collaboration the results can be extraordinary and that's what Buckmasters and Head Hunters TV will be doing. This is not a merger, not a takeover, this is teamwork in action. Over the coming months you'll be seeing Randy Birdsong and Nate Hosie featured on Buckmasters TV, social media and in the Buckmasters magazine. We feel this benefits the Buckmasters audience and broadens the scope of Head Hunters TV, a win across the board and a tide that raises all ships.
Buckmasters and Head Hunters TV showcase thrilling hunting content across multiple media platforms; from traditional television and streaming services to podcasts, social and print media, Buckmasters and Head Hunters TV bring audiences engaging content that educates, entertains and fuels hunting dreams.
Buckmasters is celebrating 40 years of pioneering the hunting lifestyle. "It's been a fun ride and I'm excited for the next chapter," said founder Jackie Bushman.
In 1988 the first Buckmasters Classic paved the way for hunting shows to be aired on linear television thanks to Jackie's vision, and help from his friends. The Nashville Network (TNN) aired the first Buckmasters Classic and the episode, a pilot, finished as the highest ranking show on TNN, opening the door for hunting TV as the first deer hunting show on television.
Over the years the Buckmasters Classic and Buckmasters show featured household names and faces like Bo Jackson, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Foxworthy and many other celebrities, fostering a connection through hunting between these famous personas and the common hunter. This platform became wildly popular with the hunting audience and created the arc for the future of hunting and Buckmasters.
Today Buckmasters continues to build by looking at the future through the lens of past successes.
Randy Birdsong and Nate Hosie have carved out a name for themselves with Head Hunters TV, airing on the Outdoor Channel since July of 2011. Randy Birdsong got his start in the hunting industry by filming, but Birdsong's dream was to one day host his own hunting show. Nate Hosie, a hunting fanatic in his own right and a rising star in country music, opening for Jelly Roll and Post Malone, jumped at the chance to help Randy Birdsong build Head Hunters TV. They rolled the dice and through hard work and a fresh look at hunting television, built a unique platform highlighting more than just the hunt.
With a reality TV style, Head Hunters TV brings viewers along on every aspect of the hunting television adventure. Birdsong and Hosie have a wealth of hunting knowledge and along with their team, capture hunting storylines that engage, entertain and educate audiences across America.
We at Buckmasters are proud to collaborate with Randy Birdsong and Nate Hosie as teammates and look forward to working together as we continue to honor the heritage of deer hunting while leading the future of the sport — through education, storytelling, and a nationwide community built on respect for the outdoors.
