In Gladstone, Virginia, Akenhead faced a competitive field of 76 competitors. She demonstrated consistency, focus and top-level execution across all 18 stages. Her final score of 119 was outstanding, earning her second place overall and the Highest Lady.
"The NRL Hunter match at Black Bear Shooting Club was a test of practical field shooting, with a great mix of terrain, target presentations and stage design that really pushed positional skills and time management," stated Akenhead. "I ran an American Gen II rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor, and it performed reliably throughout the weekend. Overall, it was a well-run match with challenging but fair stages, making it a great experience for both seasoned competitors and newer shooters looking to step into the NRL Hunter format."
Akenhead's preparation and performance relied heavily on her American Gen II rifle, which helped her perform under pressure throughout the competition.
