Nate Guernsey Claims Second 2026 300M National Championship

Nate Guernsey of Team Lapua has secured his second 300-meter National Championship title of 2026, winning the U.S. National Championship with an impressive score of 593. The victory follows his earlier success at the New Zealand Nationals in January, marking a standout year on the international stage.

The U.S. National Championships, sponsored by USA Shooting, were held this past weekend at the Minneapolis Rifle Club outside Elk River, Minnesota. Guernsey, competing with Lapua 6mm BR cases, Vihtavuori N140 powder, and Berger 108 Grain BT Target bullets, set the pace early by taking first place in the prone match on day one of the 2-day event. His day two performance secured him the national title.

Final podium results:

  • 1st Place: Nate Guernsey
  • 2nd Place: Brad Yliniemi
  • 3rd Place: Cameron Keating

"Winning the U.S. National Championship against this level of competition is incredibly rewarding, especially in conditions that tested every part of the game," said Guernsey. "At the Nationals, where every point matters and the margins are razor thin, having complete confidence in my ammunition makes all the difference. Lapua 6mm BR Norma brass gives me the consistency I rely on and allows me to focus on execution, knowing my equipment will perform. It's that level of precision and reliability that makes results like this possible."

Guernsey will next compete at the Lapua 300M European Cup in Zagreb, Croatia, this July.
